Kruger & Serro Rank Among National Leaders in May 2 NCAA Baseball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall third basemen Gary Kruger (Jr., East Islip, NY/East Islip) and pitcher Ted Serro (Jr., Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) are ranked among the national leaders in the May 2 NCAA Division III baseball statistics.

The team leader in stolen bases with 24-on-26 attempts in 33 games, Kruger is ranked 15th in the nation as he is averaging 0.73 stolen bases per game. Ray Mowatt of Baruch College leads the nation with an average of 1.09 stolen bases per game.

On the mound, Serro ranks 20th in strikeouts per nine innings as he has struck out 60 batters in 52.1 innings, an average of 10.4 strikeouts. Eric Tylutki of Cazenovia College leads the nation with 13.4 strikeouts per nine innings.

Franklin & Marshall College (23-13, 15-3 Centennial Conference) will continue the season in the Centennial Conference playoffs as F&M earned the #1 seed and hosting rights for the playoffs on May 6, 7 and 8. On May 6, #3 seed Haverford College will host #4 seed Gettysburg College in a single elimination playoff game at 3:00 p.m. The winner will advance to face #2 seed Johns Hopkins University at Caplan Field on May 7 at 11:00 a.m. in a single elimination game, before the winner of the game faces the Diplomats in a best of three series. On May 7, game one of the Centennial Conference championship series will begin at 3:00 p.m., with game two and three (if necessary) set for noon and approximately 3:00 p.m. starts on May 8.
