Hanecak Named April 18 Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week, Serro Named to Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall outfielder Dan Hanecak (Jr., Conestoga, PA/Lancaster Catholic) has been named the April 18 Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while pitcher Ted Serro (Jr., Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) was named to the honor roll.

Last week, Hanecak hit .478 (11-for-23) with five runs scored, three doubles and five RBI in a 5-0 week for the Diplomats as Franklin & Marshall defeated Haverford (6-2 W, 8-3 W), McDaniel (5-4 W, 8-3 W) and William Paterson (9-5 W).

Against Haverford in the 8-3 win, he went four-for-five with two runs scored and one RBI.

On the year, Hanecak is hitting .363 (33-for-91) with 15 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, 15 RBI and three-for-three in stolen bases.

Serro went eight innings against Haverford in the 8-3 win allowing one earned run on seven hits and three walks with six strikeouts as he has a 3.38 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 37.1 innings of work.

As a team, Franklin & Marshall ranks second in fielding percentage (.953), strikeouts (183) and saves (four), third in home runs (11), ERA (4.38), stolen bases (67) and walks (112), fourth in batting average (.307), total bases (363) and RBI (154), fifth in doubles (47), complete games (five) and on base percentage (.390), seventh in slugging percentage (.415) and eighth in triples (seven).

Franklin & Marshall (16-12, 9-3 Centennial Conference) will return to on April 19 at home versus Swarthmore College. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
