LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall College senior co-captain Gary Kruger (Sr., East Islip, NY/East Islip) helped lead the Fort Collins (CO) Foxes to the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League championship this summer. Kruger, who played third base, second base and leftfield for the Foxes, led Fort Collins to a 37-10 record during the regular season as the Foxes clinched the regular season championship. In the best of three championship playoff series versus the Laramie (WY) Colts, the Foxes swept the series recording a 3-0 win at home in game one on August 11 and a 5-2 victory at Laramie in game two on August 12. In the clinching game, Kruger led off the seventh inning with a single and scored on an RBI single by Adam Froeschl for the winning run. Overall, Kruger batted .309 (38-for-123) with a team high nine doubles, two triples, 13 runs batted in, 28 runs scored, 22 walks and was 11-for-15 in stolen bases. The Mountain Collegiate League is a four-team wooden bat league as Fort Collins is joined with Laramie, Cheyenne and Greeley. The Foxes play their home games at Colorado State University's Ram Baseball Field.
