Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 10 NCAA Baseball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Pitchers Jeremy Knox (Sr., Bronx, NY/Iona Prep), Ted Serro (Sr., Brooklyn, NY/Xaiver) and Matt Metsch (Fr., East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), third baseman Gary Kruger (Sr., East Islip, NY/East Islip), second baseman Rob Stern (So., Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) and the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats baseball team rank among the national leaders in the April 10 NCAA Baseball Statistics. As a team, the Diplomats are ranked 21st in earned run average (3.04), 32nd in stolen bases (2.33 spg), 60th in win-loss percentage (.667), 79th in double plays per game (0.88) and 139th in strikeouts per nine innings (6.4 kpg) for their performance through games of April 9. Individually, Kruger and Stern lead the Diplomats at the plate as they rank 76th (.440) and 99th (.429), respectively, in batting average. On the mound, Metsch ranks 12th in earned run average (1.03), first in win-loss percentage (5-0) and 37th in victories (five), while Knox is 37th in victories (fifth) and Serro is ranked 92nd in ERA (2.03) and 32nd in strikeouts per nine innings (10.6). Franklin & Marshall (17-8, 7-2 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 14 at Haverford in the final game of a home-and-home series. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
