Knox, Serro, Kruger, Metsch & Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 17 Baseball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Pitchers Jeremy Knox (Sr., Bronx, NY/Iona Prep), Ted Serro (Sr., Brooklyn, NY/Xaiver) and Matt Metsch (Fr., East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), third baseman Gary Kruger (Sr., East Islip, NY/East Islip) and the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats baseball team rank among the national leaders in the April 17 NCAA Baseball Statistics. As a team, the Diplomats are ranked ninth in earned run average (2.72 ERA), 35th in stolen bases (2.36 per game), 41st in win-loss percentage (71.4%), 71st in double plays (0.89 per game) and 123rd in strikeouts per nine innings (6.4 kpg) for their performance through games of April 16. Individually, Kruger leads the Diplomats at the plate as he ranks 23rd in batting average (.467), 35th in triples (0.18 per game) and 50th in slugging percentage (.720). The all-time hits leader in F&M history with 160, he ranks third in runs (113), second in RBI (87), first in triples (15), second in home runs (11) and first in stolen bases (83) in the history of the program. On the mound, Metsch ranks ninth in earned run average (1.06) and first in win-loss, while Knox is 23rd in victories (fifth) and 91st in earned run average (2.02) and Serro is ranked 64th in ERA (1.84) and 32nd in strikeouts per nine innings (10.6). Franklin & Marshall (21-8, 11-2 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 21 at home versus Swarthmore in the final game of a home-and-home series. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
