Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in May 15 NCAA Baseball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Pitchers Jeremy Knox (Sr., Bronx, NY/Iona Prep), Ted Serro (Sr., Brooklyn, NY/Xaiver) and Matt Metsch (Fr., East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), third baseman Gary Kruger (Sr., East Islip, NY/East Islip), centerfielder Eric Milavsky (Sr., Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats baseball team rank among the national leaders in the May 15 NCAA Baseball Statistics. As a team, the Diplomats are ranked 12th in earned run average (2.75 ERA), 16th in stolen bases (2.59 per game), 23rd in win-loss percentage (75.7%), 56th in batting average (.326), 78th in double plays (0.86 per game) and 88th in strikeouts per nine innings (6.6 kpg) for their performance through games of May 14. Individually, Kruger leads the Diplomats at the plate as he ranks 29th in triples (0.16 per game), while Milavsky is 47th in stolen bases (0.62 per game). On the mound, Metsch ranks fourth in earned run average (1.25) and first in win-loss (1.000), as he is 6-0 on the year, while Knox is third in victories (10) as he is 10-2 on the season following a 3-0 loss to The College of New Jersey in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Tournament. In addition, Serro is ranked 17th in ERA (1.5) and 43rd in strikeouts per nine innings (9.8 kpg). The 2006 Centennial Conference champions and ranked #14 in the nation, Franklin & Marshall finished 1-2 at the NCAA Regional tournament as the Diplomats knocked off Gwynedd-Mercy College (14-1 W), but fell to #1 TCNJ (3-0 L) and #19 Montclair State University (19-10 L) to conclude the season 29-11, 16-2 in Centennial Conference play.
