LANCASTER, PA – The 2006 Centennial Conference champion Franklin & Marshall College baseball team moved two spots to fifth in the May 11 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region poll. Ranked seventh in the May 4 poll, the Diplomats ranking marks the team’s highest in the NCAA regional poll since June 9, 1995 when the team was ranked #18 in the national poll and third in the NCAA regional poll. Ranked #13 in the nation and #2 in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the latest American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll, the Diplomats (28-9, 16-2 Centennial Conference) knocked off Haverford College 10-0 and 7-4 on May 6-7 to capture the Centennial Conference title. The only Centennial Conference team ranked in the poll, the Diplomats trail The College of New Jersey, Montclair State University, Kean University and Gwynedd-Mercy College, while Franklin & Marshall is ranked ahead of Alvernia College, Rowan University and Frostburg State University.
