LANCASTER, PA – Louis Cesarone and Jeff Moore haven been named assistant baseball coaches at Franklin & Marshall College. Cesarone brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Diplomats as he returns for his second stint at Franklin & Marshall after serving as an assistant baseball coach at the College from 1988-93. An assistant coach at Millersville University of Pennsylvania since September and an assistant coach at The College of New Jersey in 1987, he has served as the special assistant to the Director of Baseball Operations, a bench coach and first base coach for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League since June. The head baseball and golf coach at Lancaster Country Day School from 1988 to 2004, he led both squads to the most wins in school history as the baseball team won over 100 games and the golf team captured in excess of 160 victories. A 1986 graduate of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in recreation and a 1987 graduate of The College of New Jersey with a masters of health education, Cesarone has served as an associate baseball scout with the Detroit Tigers since September 2005 after working as a scout for the New York Mets from 2002-05. Moore was a four-year starter and two-year captain in baseball at York College of Pennsylvania were he earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors as a sophomore (second team) and a senior (first team). He holds three NCAA Division III records as he slugged two grand slams and drove in nine runs in an inning in a victory over Gallaudet College on March 24, 2002 to set the NCAA record for most grand slams in an inning and a game and the most RBIs in an inning. In addition to his national records, Moore ranks fourth in hits (217) and fifth in total bases (307) and runs (146) in York College history and recorded the third best single season triple total with seven last year. A 2005 graduate of York College with a degree in secondary education with concentration in social studies, Moore is a native of Wilmington, Delaware and a 2001 graduate of Brandywine High School.
