MADISON, NJ -- Casey Rogers ignited for a hat trick as Drew University captured the championship title of the Drew Fall Field Hockey Festival on Sunday afternoon courtesy a 4-0 win over Franklin & Marshall College.

With the win, the Rangers avenge last year's 2-1 loss in the championship game to the Diplomats and marks Drew's 16th Fall Fest title since the inception of the tournament in 1983.

Freshman Colleen Mahon got the Rangers on the board at the 27:45 mark, scoring on a feed from Stephanie O'Keefe. It was Rogers from then on as she netted three unanswered scores. The first came on a quick pass off the stick of Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year Kara Fetter with just 1:53 remaining, giving Drew a 2-0 lead at halftime.

After a slow start in the first half which saw F&M take only one shot, the Diplomats (1-1) came out stronger, but Rogers would continue her offensive onslaught connecting on a feed from Mahon, then again with 12:04 to play on a pass from O'Keefe.

For her performance, Rogers was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player.

In net, F&M's Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) made seven saves while the Rangers' pair of Jess Kates and Tara Connolly registered seven of their own

Overall, three Diplomats were named to the All-Tournament team led by Alison Reindle (Jr., Fleetwood, PA/Muhlenberg) who scored the game-winning goal in F&M's season opening 1-0 overtime win against Juniata to advance to the title game. In the game, the Diplomats and Eagles played to a 0-0 tie in regulation, forcing sudden death overtime. Reindle connected on an unassisted goal at the 4:55 mark of OT to advance the Diplomats (1-0) to their second consecutive Fall Fest Championship game against the Rangers.

Jen Ferris (Sr., West Buxton, ME/Bonny Eagle) and Lindsay Mohr (Fr., Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) also earned All-Tournament recognition as the Diplomats will next be in action on September 4th at home against Lebanon Valley College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
