Lindner Named to Centennial Conference Field Hockey Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Centennial Conference Executive Secretary Steve Ulrich announced today that Franklin & Marshall College goaltender Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) has been named to the conference field hockey honor roll for the week ending September 16.

In two games, Lindner recorded 31 saves, including a 22-save effort versus Elizabethtown, as F&M went 1-1 to improve their record to 2-4, 1-1 in the Centennial Conference.

Against the Blue Jays, Lindner stopped 22 of Elizabethtown's 31 shots in a 2-0 loss. On Saturday, she would continue her solid week in the cage by making nine saves on 10 Muhlenberg shots to down the Centennial Conference Mules 2-1 for the Diplomats' first conference win of the season.

In the game, Courtney Brooks (Sr., Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery) scored the game-winner with 8:37 to go in the first half to hand Muhlenberg its third straight one-goal defeat.

Brooks' goal would come just 18 seconds after Muhlenberg's Kristen Bruschi tied the game at one off a brilliant pass from Melissa Eiken.

F&M had opened a 1-0 lead over the Mules at 24:01 of the first as Sara Yonker (Jr., Rockville, MD/Thomas S. Wootton) took a Lindsey Mohr (Fr., Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) pass and turned it into a goal. The goal marked the first Diplomats' tally in 291 minutes, as the Diplomats had been shutout in their last four games.

On the season, Lindner is among the Centennial's best goalies as she ranks second in saves (64), fourth in shutouts (1), seventh in goals against average (2.14) and 11th in save percentage (70.3).

Franklin & Marshall College will continue the season on September 22 with an away game at Eastern Mennonite University, before traveling to Mary Washington on the 23rd of the month. F&M will return to Baker Campus on September 26 for their next scheduled home contest, a 5:00 p.m. game with Johns Hopkins University.
