LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall forward Nancy Cimino (So., Ewing, NJ/Pennington School) has been named to the Centennial Conference Field Hockey Honor Roll for the week ending September 29th.

In games with Johns Hopkins and Haverford, Cimino would score the game-winning goals in back-to-back 2-0 victories for her first collegiate goals and points.

Versus Hopkins, Cimino chipped an assist from Sara Yonker (Jr., Rockville, MD/Thomas S. Wootton) through a scramble in front of the Johns Hopkins net at the 63:54 mark as the Diplomats defeated the visiting Blue Jays for the first time since a 4-1 victory in 1992.

Historically, the game marked the 19th meeting between F&M and the Blue Jays as Hopkins now holds a 12-6-1 series lead. Hopkins had won eight straight including the last three by shutout as JHU outscored the Diplomats 8-0, including a 5-0 win in Baltimore last year. Further, the loss snapped Hopkins' 17-game Centennial Conference win streak, one shy of the Centennial record of 18 held by Swarthmore from 1995 through October 4, 1997.

On Saturday, Cimino would do it again as Kate Heintzelman (Sr., Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) and her scored in the final 3:49 of the game for the victory over Haverford.

The game would be decided at 66:15 as Cimino slapped a Jen Ferris (Sr., West Buxton, ME/Bonny Eagle) pass into the cage for the game winner. Heintzelman would add an insurance goal at 67:50 on a penalty shot as the Diplomats improved to 13-3-1 against the Fords and continued a four match winning streak over Haverford.

With the blankings, F&M goalie Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) is now ranked second in the conference for shutouts with three, one behind CC leader Marissa Giorgio of Dickinson.

F&M will continue the season this week with an away game versus #18 nationally ranked Catholic University of America on October 2, before returning home to face Division II Millersville University of Pennsylvania on October 4 for local bragging rights. Game time for the Millersville contest is slated for 4:30 p.m.
