Ferris Scores Four to Lead F&M Over Bryn Mawr 6-1 in Field Hockey

LANCASTER, PA -- Jen Ferris (Sr., West Buxton, ME/Bonny Eagle) scored four second half goals to lead Franklin & Marshall (5-8, 4-1 CC) to a 6-1 Centennial Conference win over Bryn Mawr College (0-9, 0-5 CC) at Baker Campus on Tuesday afternoon in field hockey. Ferris notched scores off passes from Christine Corkran (Fr., Ellicott City, MD/Glenelg Country), Courtney Brooks (Sr., Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery), Nancy Cimino (So., Ewing, NJ/Pennington School) and Kate Heintzelman (Sr., Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) within 37:41 for insurance following first half goals by Corkran and Whitney Trump (Fr., Sleepy Hollow, IL/Elgin Academy) to seal the game. For her career, Ferris now has 14 goals and six assists for 34 points. In Centennial Conference games this year, she leads the conference in scoring with five goals. Overall, she has tallied six goals and an assist to date through 13 games. In goal, Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) allowed one goal and recorded a save on two shots, while Bryn Mawr's Maggie Mostue blocked away 11 of F&M's 47 shots on goal. The Diplomats now hold a 7-0-2 series lead against the Mawrters with seven straight victories. The Mawrters battled F&M to draws in 1993 (1-1) and 1994 (0-0), but have fallen over since 1995.
