SWARTHMORE, PA -- Alison Reindle (Jr., Fleetwood, PA/Muhlenberg) scored her second penalty stroke goal of the week as the Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats knocked off Swarthmore College 1-0 to move one step closer to securing a berth in the Centennial Conference field hockey playoffs.

Reindle, who assisted on the winning score and tallied a penalty stroke insurance goal as the Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team defeated Gettysburg College, 3-1, on Tuesday, would star on both ends of the field against the Garnet as she scored the game-winner and added a defensive save to preserve the win.

With 8:29 left in regulation, Reindle would beat Swarthmore goalie Kate Nelson-Lee for the game's only score to improve F&M to 7-9, 6-2 in the Centennial Conference as the Diplomats remain in second place in the Conference standings.

Up 1-0, Reindle would layout across the plain of the goal on a shot by Swarthmore's Kim Cariello and swipe the ball off the goal line to preserve the shutout and the victory in the game's final minutes.

In goal, Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) recorded four saves, while Nelson-Lee blocked six of F&M's 11 shots on goal.

F&M will finish out the regular season with an October 23 game in Carlisle, Pennsylvania at Dickinson College.
