Ferris Named October 15th Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week in Field Hockey

LANCASTER, PA - Steve Ulrich, Executive Secretary of the Centennial Conference, announced today that Franklin & Marshall College midfielder Jen Ferris (Sr., West Buxton, ME/Bonny Eagle) and Western Maryland College defender Kim Camponelli have been named the Co-Players of the Week for the period ending October 14th.

Last week, Ferris scored four second-half goals in the Diplomats' 6-1 victory over Bryn Mawr. Camponelli was involved in 67 percent of her team's goals in a 2-0 week for the Green Terror. She had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over Goucher, then assisted on the opening goal and scored the game-winner with 4:18 left in a 2-1 triumph over Franklin & Marshall.

For her career, Ferris now has 14 goals and six assists for 34 points. Overall, she has tallied six goals and an assist to date through 14 games this year to rank seventh in the latest Conference statistics in goals per game (.429) and ninth in points per game (.929).

In other statistics, F&M goalie Jenny Lindner (Jr., Northport, NY/Friends Academy) is ranked third in shutouts with three, halfway to the Conference lead Dickinson College's Marissa Giorgio with six. In addition, she is fifth in saves (97), eighth in goals against average (1.97 gpg) and ninth in save percentage (77.6) as the Diplomats possess the eighth offense (1.21 gpg) and defense (2.00 gpg).

F&M (5-9, 4-2 CC) will continue the season on October 16th versus Gettysburg College in the final regular season home game of the year, before hitting the road to play at Swarthmore (October 20) and Dickinson (October 23).
