Ferris Earns 2001 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division III South Region Second Team All-America Selection

LANCASTER, PA -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced today that Franklin & Marshall College senior forward Jennifer Ferris (West Buxton, ME/Bonny Eagle) has been named a 2001 AstroTurf/NFHCA Division III South Region Second Team All-America selection.

A 2001 All-Centennial Conference first team selection at forward, she shared the lead in goals in Conference games this year with six, while scoring seven goals and tallying one assist for 15 points. In addition, she was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week on October 15 for scoring four second-half goals in the Diplomats' 6-1 victory over Bryn Mawr

She finishes her four-year career with 15 goals and six assists, as she entered her senior season with eight goals and five assists through the previous three seasons.

Historically, Ferris is the 15th F&M player to earn All-American honors and the second in two years for the Diplomats. Midfielder Gen Moyer '01 earned the honor last year.

Franklin & Marshall finished the year second in the Centennial Conference regular season standings with a 7-2 record, 8-10 overall. They advanced to the Centennial Conference playoffs before falling to Johns Hopkins University 3-0.
