LANCASTER, PA - Laura Ford used a Melanie Thompson pass to score with two minutes left in the game to defeat Franklin & Marshall 1-0 in Centennial Conference field hockey.

The first half was a battle to gain momentum as both teams struggled to find their offense. McDaniel recorded six first half shots, while the Diplomats recorded five. Jenny Lindner (Sr., Northport, NY/ Friends Academy) recorded three saves in the first half to keep the score tied 0-0 going into halftime.

The start of the second half was much like the first as neither team was able to get started. McDaniel would capitalize on a loose ball in front of the net when Melanie Thompson found Laura Ford who deposited the ball into the net with two minutes left on the clock to take a 1-0 lead and the win.

The Diplomats return to action on October 29 when they travel to Gettysburg College. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
