Hespell & Reindle Score to Lead F&M Over Swarthmore 2-0 in Field Hockey

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College's Jen Hespell (Sr., Barto, PA/ Boyertown) and Alison Reindle (Sr., Fleetwood, PA/ Muhlenberg) both scored in 2-0 field hockey victory over Swarthmore College.

The Diplomats wasted no time getting on the board as Hespell deposited a Brittany Croll (Fr., Frankford, DE/ Indian River) pass into the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead four minutes into the game. Both teams would play a controlled game for the rest of the half, as the score remained 1-0 going into halftime.

F&M added to the lead at the 50:37 mark when Reindle was awarded a penalty stroke. The senior captain knocked the ball into the back of the cage to take a 2-0 lead.

In goal Jenny Lindner (Sr., Northport, NY/ Friends Academy) came away with her fifth shutout on the year stopping three Garnet shots.

Franklin & Marshall will return to action on November 3 at Gettysburg College. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
