Diplomats Outlast Gettyburg in Field Hockey 2-1

GETTYSBURG, PA - Brittany Croll (Fr. Frankford, DE/Indian River) scored off an Eileen Keever (Fr. Prospect Park, PA/ Interboro) assist 59:19 into the game as the Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team defeated Gettysburg College 2-1.

Franklin & Marshall scored first versus the Bullets as Alison Reindle (Sr. Fleetwood, PA/Muhlenberg) converted a penalty stroke at the 9:25 mark for a 1-0 lead. Gettysburg answered four minutes later as Amy Ritter finished a Jackie Eberle pass to tie the score.

In goal, Jenny Lindner (Sr. Northport, NY/Friends Academy) stopped three of Gettysburg's nine shots on goal before being lifted for Michelle Altman (Fr., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) with 20 minutes left in the game.

With the loss, Gettysburg falls to 4-13, 3-5 in Centennial Conference play, while F&M improves to 9-7, 5-3 CC.

Franklin & Marshall (9-7, 5-3 CC) will continue the season at home versus Dickinson College on November 5 in the regular season finale. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
