McDaniel Holds Off F&M 1-0 in Centennial Conference Field Hockey Semifinals

WESTMINSTER, MD - Franklin & Marshall goalie Jenny Lindner (Sr., Northport, NY/ Friends Academy) recorded nine saves, but gave up a goal at the 48:25 mark to Melanie Thompson as the Diplomats fell to McDaniel College 1-0 in the first round of the Centennial Conference Field Hockey playoffs at McDaniel.

Following a scoreless first half, Thompson scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from Kim Camponelli. On the game, McDaniel outshot the Diplomats 16-3 while McDaniel goalie Becky Arnold came away with two saves. Arnold's two saves came with less than five minutes on the clock off two consecutive shots by Brittany Croll (Fr., Frankfort, DE/ Indian River).

Franklin & Marshall will now await word from the Eastern College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Committee regarding a possible berth in the ECAC playoffs. An announcement will be made on Monday afternoon.
