Keever, Mummert & Croll Star as Field Hockey Downs Bryn Mawr, 8-1

BRYN MAWR, PA - Franklin & Marshall received two goals from Eileen Keever (So., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) and Lindsey Mummert (Fr., New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) and a goal and two assists from Brittany Croll (So., Frankford, DE/Indian River) as the Diplomats defeated Bryn Mawr 8-1 in Centennial Conference field hockey action.

The Diplomats jumped on the board two minutes into the contest as Keever broke through the defense and deposited the ball into the cage to give the Diplomats a 1-0 lead. Stacy Swymelar (So., Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) scored off a Croll assist which was sandwiched in between two Mumemrt scores as the Diplomats led 4-0 going into halftime.

Franklin & Marshall kept the pressure on in the second half as Croll found the cage four minutes into the half to up the lead to 5-0. Shuchi Saraswat (Jr., Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes) blasted a shot into the cage off a Lindsay Mohr (Jr., Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) as the Diplomats tacked on three scored between 62:21 and 69:08 to clinch the win.

Bryn Mawr broke up Franklin & Marshall's shutout attempt in the final minute as Liz Nguyen passed an Amy Johnson assist across the line for the 8-1 final.

In goal for the Diplomats, Michelle Altmann (So., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) made five saves in 70 minutes of action.

The Diplomats will return to action on October 21 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania versus Dickinson College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
