Croll & Mohr Lead Diplomats Over Haverford in Field Hockey, 7-1

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College received two goals and an assist from Brittany Croll (Fr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) and two goals from Lindsay Mohr (Jr., Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) enroute to a 7-1 victory over Haverford College in the Diplomats' Centennial Conference field hockey season opener.

F&M wasted no time cracking the scoring column as Croll weaved through several Haverford defenders and found the back of the cage to give Franklin & Marshall College a 1-0 lead 1:34 into the contest. The Diplomats continued putting pressure on the Fords as they scored four first half goals with Croll and Mohr each tallying two.

The second half was much the same as the Diplomats dominated the offensive side of the ball. Stacy Swymelar (So., Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville), Kate West (Fr., Washington, D.C./Groton) and Christine Corkran (Jr., Ellicott City, MD/Glenelg Country) drove through the Fords' defense for scores, while Shuchi Saraswat (Jr., Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes), Croll and West recorded assists to give the Diplomats a 7-1 victory.

In the cage, Michelle Altman (So., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) recorded nine saves in 70 minutes of action.

Franklin & Marshall College will return to action on September 30 in Collegeville, PA versus Ursinus College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
