COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Jess Shellaway scored just two and a half minutes into the game and Ashley Ettinger added another goal in the second half to lead # 17 Ursinus College over Franklin & Marshall College 2-1 in Centennial Conference field hockey action. In the first half Ursinus got on the board three minutes into the contest as Jess Shellaway connected off a Kristen Pearson assist at the 32:17 mark to give the Bears a 1-0 lead through the first half. Ursinus ballooned the lead to 2-0 at the 49:29 mark of the second half as Ashley Ettinger put the ball into the back of the cage. Franklin and Marshall responded three minutes later as Lindsay Mummert (Fr., New Oxford/New Oxford) scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1 for the final. In the cage for the Diplomats Michelle Altmann (So., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) recorded a career high 22 saves in 70 minutes of action. Franklin & Marshall College will return to action on October 4 at home versus Washington College. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
