Mummert Scores and Adds an Assist to Lead Franklin & Marshall Over Washington 3-1 in Field Hockey

LANCASTER, PA - Lindsay Mummert (Fr., New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) scored once and added an assist to lead the Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats over Washington College in Centennial Conference field hockey action, 3-1.

The Diplomats jumped on the scoreboard first eight minutes into the contest as Mummert connected on a Brenna Dolphin (Fr., Wilmington, DE/Archmere) assist to give F&M a 1-0 lead. Mummert would not be done as she assisted Eileen Keever (So., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) 16 seconds later to put the Diplomats up 2-0. The lead would stand for the rest of the half.

The Shorewomen opened the second half scoring as Laura Scimeca found the back of the cage to cut the Diplomat lead to 2-1 with just over 13 minutes left in the game. F&M answered back with a Brittany Croll (So., Frankford, DE/Indian River) goal off a Kate West (Fr., Washington, D.C./Groton) assist to give the Diplomats a 3-1 victory.

In the cage for F&M Michelle Altmann (So., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) made eight saves in 70 minutes of action.

Franklin & Marshall College will return to action on October 7 at home versus Getysburg College. Game time is set for 4:30 pm.
