LANCASTER, PA -- The Franklin & Marshall College Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the schedule of games for the 2003 field hockey season. On September 6-7, the Diplomats will open their season at the Drew University Tournament in Madison, New Jersey versus Manhattanville, Cabrini and the host Rangers before returning home for a contest versus Lebanon Valley College on September 11. The Diplomats will conclude the month with home games versus Villa Julie (9/24) and Haverford (9/26) and away dates at Elizabethtown (9/15), Eastern Mennonite (9/20), Mary Washington (9/21) and Ursinus (9/30) In October, the Diplomats will host Washington (10/4) and Gettysburg (10/7), before hitting the road for an away game at Johns Hopkins (10/11). Following a home game on October 14 against McDaniel, F&M will conclude the regular season at Bryn Mawr (10/18), Dickinson (10/21), Catholic (10/24) and Muhlenberg (10/29) before returning home for a showdown with Swarthmore (11/1) in preparation for the Centennial Conference playoffs (11/8-9). Franklin & Marshall finished the 2002 field hockey season 10-8, 6-3 in the Centennial Conference for the first winning season in program history since the 1992 team went 13-6.
