LANCASTER, PA - Kate Hopkins scored two goals to lead Gettysburg College over Franklin & Marshall College 3-0 in Centennial Conference field hockey action. The Bullets jumped on the board in the first half six minutes of the contest as Lisa Giljam connected on a Carrie Brown assist to put the Bullets up 1-0. Kate Hopkins added another goal at the 22:16 mark of the first half to push the lead to 2-0 heading into halftime. In the second half, Hopkins tacked on another unassisted goal at the 52:56 mark for the 3-0 final. In the cage for the Diplomats Michelle Altmann (So., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) made 10 saves off 16 Gettysburg shots in 70 minutes of action. The victory marks the Bullets first win in Lancaster since 1999 and snaps a two game winning streak by the Diplomats in the series as Franklin & Marshall dropped Gettysburg 2-1 last year on the road and 3-1 in Lancaster during the 2001 season. Franklin & Marshall College will return to action on October 11 at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Game time is set for 4:30 pm.
