LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team moved one spot to seventh in the October 5 STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Coaches Poll. Ranked sixth last week, the Diplomats went 1-1 last week as the team fell to #3 ranked Ursinus College (4-1) and Washington College 2-1 in Centennial Conference action. Against Washington, Maggie Onasch (So., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley) and Brittany Croll (Jr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) each scored a goal as Franklin & Marshall improved to 8-2 on the season, 2-1 in Centennial Conference play. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll is voted upon by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2004 NCAA Division III Championship field. The Diplomats will return to action at 4:30 p.m. on October 6th at # 17 Gettysburg College before facing 2003 Centennial Conference champion Johns Hopkins University in Lancaster on October 9.
