LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team moved one spot to eighth in the October 12 STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Coaches Poll. Ranked seventh in the October 5 poll, the Diplomats went 2-0 last week in Centennial Conference action defeating #16 Gettysburg College (2-1 W) and 2003 Centennial Conference champion Johns Hopkins Univesity (3-1 W). Versus Gettysburg, forward Eileen Keever (Jr., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) scored with 36 seconds left in regulation for the deciding score as the Diplomats remain second in the Centennial Conference with a 4-1 record. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll is voted upon by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2004 NCAA Division III Championship field. Franklin & Marshall (10-2, 4-1 CC) will return to action on October 13 at McDaniel College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. October 12 STX/NFHCA Division III Field Hockey Poll 1.
