F&M Receives 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award

LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team has been honored with a 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Team Award. Teams selected for NFHCA Academic Team honors are nominated by their coach and must attain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher during their season. Leading the way for the Diplomats were forwards Brittany Croll (Jr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) and Amy Swymelar (Fr., Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville), midfielders Lindsay Klimik (Jr., Brick, NJ/Brick), Elizabeth Onasch (Sr., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley), Lindsay Solar (Fr., King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) and Margaret Onasch (So., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley) and midfielder/defender Millicent Scott (Fr., Plymouth, NH/Groton School) who were named to the 2004 NFHCA Division III Academic All-Star squad. Student-athletes selected to the NFHCA Academic Squad were nominated by their coaches and attained a minimum overall GPA of at least 3.30 through the first semester of the 2004-05 academic year. Franklin & Marshall College concluded the season with a 16-5 overall record, as the team tied the program single season wins mark held by the 1982 Diplomats (16-3-1) and established a new scoring mark with 74 goals.
