Franklin & Marshall Moves to #12 in September 27 STX/NFHCA Division III National Poll

LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team moved to #12 in the September 27 STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Coaches Poll.

Ranked #11 in the final 2004 poll, #10 on September 13 and #11 last week, Franklin & Marshall has opened the season 7-1 as the team has defeated CW Post (2-0 W), Drew (2-1 OT W), Elizabethtown (5-2 W), Lebanon Valley (3-2 OT W), Mary Washington (4-1 W), York (2-1 W)and Haverford (5-0 W) with a loss to Eastern Mennonite University (2-1 L).

The Diplomats are one of three Centennial Conference teams ranked in the top 20 as Ursinus College is picked #2 and Gettysburg College is #18.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll is voted upon by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship field.

Franklin & Marshall (7-1, 1-0 CC) will return to action on September 28 at Ursinus College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
