Franklin & Marshall Moves to #19 in November 1 STX/NFHCA Division III Field Hockey Poll

LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team moved to #19 in the November 1 STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Coaches Poll.

Ranked #11 in the final 2004 poll, #10 on September 13, #11 on September 20, #12 on September 27 and October 4, #16 on October 11 and #18 on October 18 and 25, Franklin & Marshall is 12-5 on the season as the Diplomats have defeated CW Post University (2-0 W), Drew University (2-1 OT W), #17 Elizabethtown College (5-2 W), #12 Lebanon Valley College (3-2 OT W), the University of Mary Washington (4-1 W), York College (2-1 W), Haverford College (5-0 W), Washington College (1-0 W OT), Bryn Mawr College (8-0 W), Dickinson College (4-2 W), Muhlenberg College (2-1 W) and Swarthmore College (4-1 W), with losses to Eastern Mennonite University (2-1 L), #15 Gettysburg College (2-1 L), Johns Hopkins University (7-0 L), #2 Ursinus College (2-1 L) and McDaniel College (4-1 L),

The Diplomats are one of three Centennial Conference teams ranked in the top 20 joining Ursinus and Gettysburg.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll is voted upon by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship field.

Franklin & Marshall (12-5, 6-4 CC) will return to action on November 2 at Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Field in the first round of the 2005 Centennial Conference Field Hockey Playoffs. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
