Keever Named October 31 ECAC Division III Field Hockey Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College forward Eileen Keever (Sr., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) has been named the October 31 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Field Hockey Player of the Week. The October 31 Centennial Conference Player of the Week, she scored four goals as the Diplomats went 2-0 and clinched the #5 seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs. At Muhlenberg on October 26, she scored twice as the Diplomats rallied for a 2-1 win in Allentown. Versus Swarthmore on October 29 at home on Baker Field, she tacked on two more goals as the Diplomats rolled to a 4-1 victory. In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, she ranks among the leaders in shots (eighth, 54), shots per game (fifth, 3.60 spg), points (sixth, 27), points per game (fourth, 1.80 ppg), goals (sixth, 12) and goals per game (third, 0.80 gpg) as she has scored 12-3-27 this year. The dual Player of the Week honors continue a string of honors for Keever who was named to the 2005 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game with teammate Brittany Croll (Sr., Lewes, DE/Indian River). The game will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 9:30 a.m. on the campus of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. The team’s 2004 Most Valuable Player, Keever was named a 2004 STX/NFHCA All-America second team and All-Centennial Conference first team selection last season. Further, she was named to the 2004 STX/ NFHCA Division III All-South Region team as she led the Centennial Conference in goals and points with 20-9-49. A 2003 All-CC second team selection, she now has 45-17-107 in her four-year career as she is fourth in career goals at the College behind Laura Kramedas ’80 (53), Sue Bowen ’80 (52) and Croll (52). Overall, Keever and Croll are part of a senior class which has led F&M to a 46-28 record over the last four seasons. #19 Franklin & Marshall (12-5, 6-4 Centennial Conference) will continue the season at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in a Centennial Conference first round playoff game on November 2 at 7:00 p.m.
