Keever, Croll & Dolphin Named to 2005 All-Centennial Conference Field Hockey Team

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall College forwards Eileen Keever (Sr., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) and Brittany Croll (Sr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) and midfielder Brenna Dolphin (Jr., Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) have been named to the 2005 All-Centennial Conference field hockey team.

A first team selection, Keever earned her third All-Centennial Conference nod as she earned first team honors in 2004 and second team honors in 2003.

The October 31 Centennial Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Week, she ranks among the leaders in shots (eighth, 54), shots per game (fifth, 3.60 spg), points (sixth, 27), points per game (fourth, 1.80 ppg), goals (sixth, 12) and goals per game (third, 0.80 gpg) in the latest Centennial Conference statistics as she has scored 12-3-27 this year.

A 2005 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game selection, Keever’s All-Centennial Conference honor continues a career of accolades.

The team’s 2004 Most Valuable Player, Keever was named a 2004 STX/NFHCA All-America second team and All-Centennial Conference first team selection last season.

Further, she was named to the 2004 STX/ NFHCA Division III All-South Region team as she led the Centennial Conference in goals and points with 20-9-49.

A 2003 All-CC second team selection, she now has 45-17-107 in her four-year career as she is fourth in career goals at the College behind Laura Kramedas ’80 (53), Sue Bowen ’80 (52) and Croll (52).

Croll earned her third All-Centennial Conference honor as she repeated as a first team honoree after earning second team accolades in 2003.

The Diplomats’ leading scorer with 16 goals and nine assists for 41 points, Croll leads the Centennial Conference in shots per game (5.35 spg) and ranks second in shots (91), points (40), points per game (2.35 ppg), goals (16), goals per game (0.94 gpg), assists (eight), assists per game (0.47 apg) and game winning goals (four) through games of October 31.

A member of the September 6, 12 and 19 October 24 Centennial Conference Honor Rolls, she has 52 goals and 23 assists for 127 points in her career to rank first in points in the program’s history.

Further, she is tied for second in goals at the College with Sue Bowen ’80 (52) behind Laura Kramedas '80 (53).

Dolphin earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention accolades as she scored six assists this season to raise her career scoring total to five goals and 15 assists for 25 points.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics for games through October 31, she ranks seventh in assists (six) and assists per game (0.35 apg) as she is part of an F&M team which ranks among the Conference leaders in scoring margin (fourth, 1.03 gpg), scoring average (2.64 gpg), shutouts (four), goals against average (1.60 gpg), shots (fourth, 280), shots per game (fourth, 16.47), goals scored (46), goals per game (2.71 gpg), goals allowed (third, 28), goals allowed per game (fourth, 1.65 gpg), assists (fourth, 30), assists per game (fourth, 1.76 apg), saves (fifth, 113), saves per game (6.65 spg) and penalty corners (fourth, 10.71 pg).

Franklin & Marshall (12-6, 6-4 Centennial Conference), which fell 3-1 to Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial Conference playoffs, will now await word from the Eastern College Athletic Conference on November 7 regarding a possible bid to the organization’s eight team South Region championship tournament.
