LANCASTER, PA - Pat Coleman, owner and editor of D3Hoops.com, has announced that Franklin & Marshall College men's basketball forward Alex Kraft (Sr., Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) has been named to the website's All Mid-Atlantic Region third team.

A 2002 Centennial Conference second team all-star, Kraft finished the year with 324 points, 172 rebounds, 66 steals, 18 blocks and 25 steals. From the field, he shot 113-of-255 (44.3 percent), and drained 32.9 percent of his three point attempts (24-of-73).

The post-season Conference honor marked the fourth year that Kraft has been honored with All-CC honors as he was named to the second team in 1999 and the first team in 2000 and 2001.

Although recovering from knee surgery prior to the season, Kraft was selected a 2002 pre-season First Team All-American by Street & Smith following an Honorable Mention nod as a sophomore in 2000 and a 2001 fourth team pick by D3Hoops.com.

For his four year career, he finishes with 1,593 points, good for fourth all-time at the College and 16 short of surpassing Will Lasky '92 for third place in the program's history. He ranks among the College's career leaders in rebounds (698, fourth), three-point field goals (112, seventh), three-point percentage (40.4%, sixth) and assists (228, 11th).

In 2001, Kraft repeated as Centennial Conference Player of the Year, was named to the Eastern College Division III Men's Southern Basketball First Team and the NABC Middle Atlantic Region All-District Team for the second consecutive year.

A 2000 First Team and 2001 Honorable Mention All-America pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Kraft led the Diplomats to the CC Western Division title and the championship game of the CC Tournament.

He has a chance to become the first player in school history to be named a three-time All-American, as seven other F&M players - Charlie Detz '96, Chris Finch '92, Jeremiah Henry '97, Dave Jannetta '95, Will Lasky '92, Mike Mehaffey and Donnie Marsh '79 - were honored twice.

Franklin & Marshall College concluded the year 24-5, 12-3 in the Centennial Conference. The team is slated to open the 2002-2003 season in November in the Annual S. Woodrow Sponaugle Tip-Off Tournament versus Methodist College, Marymount University and Widener University.
