Lynch, Juskin & Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in February 1 NCAA Men's Basketball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College is ranked among the nation's best Division III teams in the NCAA men's basketball statistics for games through February 1.

The Diplomats are ranked in scoring offense (82.1 ppg, 22nd), scoring defense (63.6 ppg, 40th), scoring margin (18.5, fourth), field goal percentage (50.0%, 10th), rebound margin (7.9, 15th) and won-lost percentage (88.9%, 10th).

Individually, center Steve Juskin (Sr., East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) ranks fifth in the NCAA with 3.9 blocked shots per game, while forward Bob Lynch (Jr., Richboro, PA/Council Rock) is nineteenth in field goal percentage (60.7).

A 2004 Street & Smith's Division III Preseason All-America Honorable Mention selection, and a D3hoops.com All-Mid Atlantic third team selection last year, Juskin is the all-time blocked shots leader in Centennial Conference and Franklin & Marshall College history with 290, more than double the runner-up total of Asaf Ganot '03 (123).

The February 3 Centennial Conference Player of the Week, he averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebound, 5.5 assists and 3.5 blocks as the Diplomats knocked off Johns Hopkins (81-60 W) and Swarthmore.

Against Johns Hopkins at home in the Mayser Center, he flirted with a quadruple-double recording 23 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and six blocked shots before notching six points on six-of-seven shooting at Swarthmore.

In addition, the 6-6 center shot 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the field as the Diplomats are now 12-0 in 2004 since returning from the holiday break.

Starting for the first time in his high school or collegiate career, Lynch has been dynamic for the Diplomats averaging 16.0 points and 6.7 rebounds.

#14 in the latest D3hoops.com men's basketball poll, the Diplomats will return to action on February 7 on the road at Ursinus College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
