LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College midfielder Jon Singer (Sr., Reisterstown, MD/Boy's Latin) has been named the March 24 Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

The honor marks the second time this season that the CC Office has honored Singer as he was named the Player of the Week on March 10.

A 2003 Inside Lacrosse: Face-Off Magazine Yearbook Preseason Honorable Mention All-America selection, last week he scored seven goals and dished out four assists in a 2-0 week for the Diplomats as F&M defeated Randolph Macon (11-6 W) and Haverford (16-2 W) to improve to 6-0, 2-0 in CC play. Against Haverford, he scored four goals and handed out three assists to raise his Conference statistics to six goals and eight assists in two games.

On the year, Singer now has 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points as he now has 79 goals and 40 assists for 119 career points, 21 goals short of surpassing Paul Friedman '75 (99) for eighth place in goals scored in F&M history.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistical rankings, Singer is third in points (4.67) and assists (2.50) and eighth in goals (2.17) per game to lead a Diplomats' offense which tops the Conference in scoring with 13.67 goals per game.

In addition, F&M ranks first in team man-up percentage (13-of-28, 46.4%) and second in scoring defense (4.00) and team man down percentage (29-of-32, 90.6%).

A 2001 Honorable Mention and 2002 Second Team All-Centennial Conference selection, Singer has been the Diplomats' most proficient offensive weapon the last two years as the 2002 season marked the second year he led the Diplomats in goals scored as he recorded 27 as a sophomore and 24 last year.

Franklin & Marshall (6-0, 2-0 CC) will continue the season on Wednesday, March 26 at home on Williamson Field versus Goucher College. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
