LANCASTER, PA -- Attackmen Colin Hanley (So., Davidsonville, MD/DeMatha) and Bryan Nolan (Sr., Scottsdale, AZ/Western Reserve) recorded hat-tricks to lead 10th ranked Franklin & Marshall College to a 10-6 victory over Goucher College in men's lacrosse at Williamson Field.

Nolan, who leads the team in goals scored with 18, recorded goals at the close of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter to seal the game.

The victory marks the Diplomats (7-0, 2-0 Centennial Conference) eighth straight win dating back to an 18-3 rout of the University of Scranton in the 2002 ECAC South Men's Lacrosse title game.

Hanley added two assists, Bas Solleveld (Jr., Glenmoore, PA/Shipley) chipped in two goals and an assist, while Beau Smith (Sr., Baltimore, MD/Gilman) tallied a goal and an assist. Jon Singer (Sr., Reisterstown, MD/Boy's Latin) found the twine once and dished off two assists, while Steve Welsh (So., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) netted two assists.

In goal, Mike Sartorius (So., Summit, NJ/Summit) tallied seven saves on 23 Gophers' shots to record the victory.

Ian Montgomery led Goucher with two goals and an assist and Reeves Craig made 14 saves in the loss.

Tied at three following a Goucher goal by Patrick Tracy off a Montgomery assist with 12:18 to play in the second quarter, the Diplomats exploded for goals by Smith and back-to-back scores by Hanley off feeds from Welsh and Singer, respectively to take a 6-3 lead with 8:57 left in the third.

Goucher cut the lead to two one minute later as Montgomery split the defense for an unassisted score, but F&M responded with a 4-0 run, capped by back-to-back scores by Nolan, to take a 10-4 lead with 12:36 left on the clock.

The Gophers added late goals by Clay Ulman and Montgomery with 2:15 and 59 seconds left on the clock for the four goal final.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Saturday at home versus Muhlenberg College (4-2, 0-2 CC) in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in Centennial Conference action. Muhlenberg, which reinstated varsity lacrosse this year, previously fielded a varsity team from 1966 to 1980 registering a 0-13 record against the Diplomats.

Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. at Williamson Field.
