Department of Athletics to Host Men's Lacrosse Alumni Game on October 25

by Sports Information
9/5/03

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall College will host an alumni men's lacrosse game as part of the College's annual Alumni Weekend on Saturday, October 25.

A highlight of the weekend each year, the game will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Weis Field in a battle of odd numbered graduation year alumni versus those of even numbered years.

The game will highlight several generations of former Diplomats, including recent graduates from the Class of 2003 who led the program to a #9 rank in the final USILA Division III national poll and an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament in 2003. In the tournament, F&M advanced to the quarterfinals before being defeated by eventual national champion Salisbury University.

The NCAA playoff berth marked the third in program history (1988, 1990, and 1995) as the Diplomats finished the year with a 12-4 mark for the best record since the 1988 team went 13-3 and advanced to the "Final Four".

For more information on the alumni game, contact Bill Gorrow, head men's lacrosse coach, at 717-291-3865 or william.gorrow@fandm.edu
