Diplomats Move to 14th in March 22 Laxpower.com Division Men's Lacrosse Poll

LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College men's lacrosse team moved up one spot to 14th in the March 22 Laxpower.com Division III poll. Ranked #15 last week, the Diplomats improved their record to 4-1 with a pair of wins last week. Attackman Chris Wathey (Sr., South Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) led the team last week as he scored eight goals and dished out four assists in a 2-0 week as F&M knocked off Keene State (13-10 W) and Denison (12-10 W) in a pair of neutral site games. Against Keene, he scored four goals and handed out two assists, and then repeated the feat against Denison as F&M improved to 4-1 on the year. His effort against Denison aided the performance of teammate Steve Welsh (Jr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) who scored four goals and handed out four assists as the duo combined for eight goals and six assists against the Big Red. In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, Wathey ranks 12th in goals (12, 2.40 gpg), 10th in assists (eight, 1.60 apg) and 10th in points (20, 4.00 ppg) as he now has 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 points in his career. Overall, Franklin & Marshall ranks fifth in scoring offense (56, 11.20 gpg), fourth in scoring defense (40, 8.00 gpg), fourth in man-up percentage (eight-of-21, 38.1%) and fifth in man-down percentage (22-of-31, 71.0%). Ranked #10 in the March 22 STX/USILA Division III Poll, Franklin & Marshall (4-1, 0-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on March 24 at Goucher.
