Diplomats Rank 10th in March 29 USILA Division III Men's Lacrosse Poll

LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College men's lacrosse team remained 10th in the nation in the March 29 STX/USILA Division III poll. Ranked #10 last week, the Diplomats improved their record to 6-1 with a pair of wins last week. Last week attackman Chris Wathey (Sr., South Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) led the team as he scored seven goals and handed out three assists as the Diplomats rolled Goucher (6-3 W) and Ursinus (10-3 W). Against Goucher, he factored in five of Franklin & Marshall College's six goals as he scored three times and handed out two assists. Wathey scored twice in the first period and notched his third goal of the contest before picking up assists on goals by Vandy Vanderwarker (Sr., Keswick, VA/STAB) and Sean Duffy (So., Springfield, PA/Archmere Academy) in the second period. Against Ursinus, he dominated the Bears putting home four goals and handing out an assist in a seven-goal rout. In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, Wathey ranks seventh in goals (19, 2.71 gpg), 11th in assists (11, 1.57 apg) and fifth in points (30, 4.29 ppg) as he now has 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points in his career. Overall, he keys a team which ranks fifth in scoring offense (72, 11.29 gpg), first in scoring defense (46, 6.57 gpg), third in man-up percentage (11-of-28, 39.3%) and fourth in man-down percentage (26-of-37, 70.3%). Ranked #11 in the March 29 Laxpower.com Division III Poll, Franklin & Marshall (6-1, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 3 at Haverford.
