Welsh & Diplomats Rank Among Nation's Best in March 28 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Statistics

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College attackman Steve Welsh (Jr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) and the team's defense rank among the nation's best in the March 28 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse statistics. Welsh ranks 19th in assists per game (2.43 apg) as the third year attackman has registered 17 assists in seven games. Overall, Welsh has 12 goals and 17 assists on the year for 29 points to raise his career numbers to 56-52-108. On the other end of the field, the Diplomats defense is ranked 10th in the nation with 6.57 goals allowed per game (46 goals in seven games), just off the pace of national leader UMass-Boston (3.50 gpg). In addition, the team ranks 15th in winning percentage as F&M has opened the year 6-1, 1-0 in Centennial Conference play. Ranked #10 in the March 29 STX/USILA Division III Poll, Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 3 at Haverford. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
