Franklin & Marshall Ranks Fifth in April 12 NCAA South Region Men's Lacrosse Regional Rankings

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College ranks fifth in the April 12 NCAA South Region Men's Lacrosse Rankings.

The strength of F&M (7-2, 2-1 Centennial Conference) has been the team's defense as goalie Mike Sartorius (Jr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the team's defense rank among the nation's best in the April 11 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse statistics.

Sartorius ranks 16th in goals against average (6.98 gaa) as he has allowed 61 goals with 102 saves on 234 shots in 524 minutes of play with a 62.6 save percentage.

For his career, Sartorius has allowed 307 goals with 486 saves on 1,006 shots in 2273 minutes of his three-year tenure between the pipes for the Diplomats.

In front of Sartorius, the Diplomats defense is ranked 12th in the nation with 7.00 goals allowed per game (63 goals in nine games), just off the pace of national leader UMass-Boston (5.25 gpg). In addition, the team ranks 15th in winning percentage.

Overall, #1 nationally ranked Salisbury University leads the regional poll, while Washington, Gettysburg and Hampden-Sydney round out the top four. Behind the Diplomats, Washington & Lee, Mary Washington and Cabrini cap off the best eight teams in the South Region.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 17 at Washington College. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
