Men's Lacrosse Ranks Sixth in April 19 NCAA Division III South Region Rankings

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College ranks sixth in the April 19 NCAA South Region Men's Lacrosse Rankings.

The strength of F&M (8-3, 3-2 Centennial Conference) has been the team's defense as goalie Mike Sartorius (Jr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the team's defense rank among the nation's best in the April 19 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse statistics.

Ranked 18th in goals against average (7.29 gaa) as he has allowed 11 goals with 113 saves on 262 shots in 584 minutes of play with a 61.4 save percentage through games of April 19, Sartorius is now permitting 7.08 goals per game with a 61.6 save percentage following a 7-5 win over Dickinson College on April 21.

In front of Sartorius, the Diplomats defense is ranked 18th in the nation with 7.3 goals allowed per game (73 goals in ten games), just off the pace of national leader Salisbury (5.92 gpg). Following the Dickinson game, F&M is now allowing 7.09 goals per game.

Overall, #1 nationally ranked Salisbury University leads the regional poll, while Washington, Gettysburg, Washington & Lee and Hampden-Sydney round out the top five. Behind the Diplomats, Mary Washington and Cabrini cap off the best eight teams in the South Region.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 24 at home versus Swarthmore College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Williamson Field.
