Adams Named March 22 ECAC Southern Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College attackman Cyrus Adams (So., Nashville, TN/Montgomery Bell Academy) has been named the March 22 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Lacrosse Southern Player of the Week. The March 21 Centennial Conference Player of the Week, he scored 12 goals and added an assist as the Diplomats defeated Kenyon College (18-8 W) in Florida and Denison University (9-8 W) in Maryland last week. Against Kenyon, he scored eight goals as it marked the seventh time in school history that a player scored eight or more goals in a game as he joins Don Gervais '96 (8 in 1994), Dan Garrett '87 (8 in 1987), William O'Leary '77 (8 in 1977) and Geoff Becker '68 (8 in 1968) for the third most goals scored in a game. For his career, he now has 25 goals and 7 assists for 32 points as he has tallied 16 goals and three assists for 19 points this season. In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, he is tied for first in game-winning goals (two and ranks second in goals (3.20 gpg) and fifth in points (3.80 ppg) per game. Further, he leads a Diplomats' team which ranks first in face-off percentage (.769), second in ground balls (43.80 gbpg), shooting percentage (.314), saves (15.20 spg) and save percentage (.667), third in assists (6.60 apg), man-up goals (1.20 pg) and shots on goal (23.80 spg), fourth in points (17.20 ppg), road attendance (273 pg) and goals against average (7.34 gpg), fifth in goals (10.60 gpg), sixth in shots (33.80 spg), man-up scoring percentage (.208) and penalty-killing percentage (.692) and ninth in penalties (5.20 ppg) and penalty minutes (4.70 pg). Historically, he is the first F&M men’s lacrosse player to garner ECAC honors since goalie Mike Sartorius (Sr., Summit, NJ/Summit) was named the Southern Goalie of the Week on May 8 and April 29, 2002. Franklin & Marshall (4-1, 0-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on March 23 at home versus Goucher College in the 2005 season opener. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
