LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall attackman Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen), goalkeeper Mike Sartorius (Sr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the Diplomats rank among the national leaders in the March 28 NCAA men’s lacrosse statistics. As a team, the Diplomats rank 14th in winning percentage as Franklin & Marshall has opened the season with a 5-1 record, 1-0 in Centennial Conference play. Individually, Welsh ranks fifth in assists (3.17 apg) as he has tallied 19 assists in six games to date. Overall, Welsh leads the Centennial Conference in assists and points as he has scored 8-19-27 to date. He recorded the third best single game assist performance in Division III as he tallied seven assists on March 16 versus Kenyon College in an 18-8 win in Florida. For his career, Welsh has 72 goals and 86 assists for 158 points as he ranks sixth in assists and eighth in points in Franklin & Marshall College men’s lacrosse history. In goal, Sartorius ranks 17th in goals against average (7.1 gpg) and save percentage (0.645). The F&M career leader in saves with 601, he holds an 8.12 goals against average and .608 save percentage in 2866 minutes of play Franklin & Marshall (5-1, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 2 in the home opener versus Haverford College.
