Welsh Named to May 2 Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College attackman Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) has been named to the May 2 Centennial Conference Men’s Lacrosse Honor Roll.

In a 1-1 week for the Diplomats, he scored three times and dished out seven assists as the Diplomats defeated McDaniel College (12-7 W) to clinch a playoff berth and fell at Gettysburg (13-12 L). Against the #4 nationally ranked Gettysburg Bullets, he scored once and dished out five assists.

Ranked third in assists (3.38 apg) and 12th in points (4.77 ppg) in the May 2 NCAA Division III statistics, he has tallied 18 goals and 44 assists for 62 points in 13 games.

For his career, he has 82 goals and 111 assists for 193 points as he ranks second in assists and fifth in points in school history.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, he leads the Conference in assists (3.38 apg) and points (4.77 ppg) as the Diplomats rank first in assists (6.38 apg), shots on goal (25.38 spg) and face-off percentage (.730), second in goals (10.54 gpg), shots (36.59 spg) and save percentage (.615), third in ground balls (37.69 pg) and goals against average (7.74 gpg), fourth in man down goals (0.08 gpg), fifth in man-up goals (1.08 gpg) and saves (12.54 spg), sixth in penalty minutes (3.81 pg), seventh in man-up scoring (.213) and penalties (4.62 pg) and eighth in penalty killing (.703).

#19 Franklin & Marshall (9-4, 5-3 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on May 6 at Gettysburg College in the semifinals of the 2005 Centennial Conference men’s lacrosse playoffs. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
