Welsh Named to April 11 Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College attackman Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) has been named to the April 11 Centennial Conference Men’s Lacrosse Honor Roll.

In a 1-0 week, he scored three goals and assisted on two others in a 10-2 win over Muhlenberg College at Williamson Field as the Diplomats improved their record to 7-1, 3-0 in Centennial Conference play.

The points raised Welsh’s career scoring totals to 77 goals and 92 assists for 169 points as he surpassed Don Gervais ’96 (90) for third place in assists at the College, and eclipsed Paul Friedman ’75 (166) to move into a tie with Peter Bidstrup ’86 (169) for fifth in points in Franklin & Marshall College men’s lacrosse history.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, he leads the Conference in points (4.75 ppg) and assists (3.12 apg) and ranks third in game winning goals (two), fourth in man-up goals (0.38 gpg) and 13th in goals (1.62 gpg) as he has tallied 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in eight games.

Further, he leads a Diplomats' team which ranks first in points (16.75 ppg), save percentage (.673), face-off percentage (.766), shots on goal (26.00 spg) and goals against (6.36 gpg), second in goals (10.62 gpg), assists (6.12 apg), ground balls (39.00 pg) and saves (13.38 spg), fourth in shot percentage (.299), man-up goals (1.25 gpg) and penalty killing percentage (.780), fifth in shots (35.50 spg) and penalties (4.38 pg), sixth in penalty minutes (3.75 pg) and seventh in man-up scoring percentage (.225).

Franklin & Marshall (7-1, 3-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 16 versus Washington College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Williamson Field.
