Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 11 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall attackmen Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) and Cyrus Adams (So., Nashville, TN/Montgomery Bell), goalkeeper Mike Sartorius (Sr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the Diplomats rank among the national leaders in the April 11 NCAA men’s lacrosse statistics.

As a team, the Diplomats rank 18th in scoring defense (7.14 gpg) and eighth in winning percentage as Franklin & Marshall has opened the season with a 7-1 record, 3-0 in Centennial Conference play.

Individually, Welsh ranks second in assists (3.29 apg) and 10th in points (4.71 ppg) as he has tallied 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in eight games to date.

For his career, Welsh has 77 goals and 92 assists for 169 points as he surpassed Don Gervais ’96 (90) for third place in assists at the College, and eclipsed Paul Friedman ’75 (166) to move into a tie with Peter Bidstrup ’86 (169) for fifth in points in Franklin & Marshall College men’s lacrosse history last week.

Adams ranks fifth in the nation in goals (3.71 gpg) as he has scored 27 goals and three assists for 30 points this year to raise his career numbers to 36-7-43.

In goal, Sartorius ranks 13th in save percentage (0.656) and 10th in goals against average (6.66 gpg) as he has recorded 91 saves with 44 goals allowed in 433 minutes.

The F&M career leader in saves with 623, he holds a 7.94 goals against average and .613 save percentage in 2978 minutes of play

#17 Franklin & Marshall (7-1, 3-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 16 at home versus #9 Washington College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
