Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 18 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall attackman Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen), goalkeeper Mike Sartorius (Sr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the Diplomats rank among the national leaders in the April 18 NCAA men’s lacrosse statistics.

As a team, the Diplomats rank sixth in scoring defense (6.44 gpg) and 13th in winning percentage (.778) as Franklin & Marshall has opened the season with a 7-2 record, 3-1 in Centennial Conference play.

Individually, Welsh ranks fifth in assists (3.11 apg) and 19th in points (4.56 ppg) as he has tallied 13 goals and 28 assists for 41 points in nine games.

For his career, he has 77 goals and 95 assists for 172 points as he surpassed Peter Bidstrup ’86 for sole possession of fifth place in scoring at the College with three assists in a 6-5 loss to #8 Washington College on April 16. Further, he is now five assists away from joining Jon Dale ’90 (218) and Bill Levy ’87 (102) as the only players with 100 career assists at Franklin & Marshall College.

In goal, Sartorius ranks seventh in save percentage (0.669) and fourth in goals against average (6.08 gpg) as he has recorded 101 saves with 50 goals allowed in 493 minutes.

The F&M career leader in saves with 633, he holds a 7.90 goals against average and .613 save percentage in 3038 minutes of play

#16 Franklin & Marshall (7-2, 3-1 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 20 at Dickinson College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
