LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College men's lacrosse team is tied for eighth in the April 20 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse South Region Rankings. Ranked #18 in the April 18 Laxpower.com NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Forum Poll and #16 in the April 18 USILA/STX Coaches Poll, the Diplomats are joined by Gettysburg (#5) and Washington (#6) as the only Centennial Conference teams ranked among the region’s best. Leading the way has been attackman Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) who has tallied 15 goals and 33 assists for 48 points as he now has 79 goals and 100 assists for 179 points. Historically, he is the third Franklin & Marshall College men’s lacrosse player to score 100 career assists joining Jon Dale ’90 (218) and Bill Levy ’87 (102). Franklin & Marshall (7-3, 3-2 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 23 at Swarthmore College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. April 20 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse South Region Rankings 1.
