Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 25 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall attackmen Steve Welsh (Sr., Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen) and Cyrus Adams (So., Nashville, TN/Montgomery Bell), goalkeeper Mike Sartorius (Sr., Summit, NJ/Summit) and the Diplomats rank among the national leaders in the April 25 NCAA men’s lacrosse statistics.

As a team, the Diplomats rank 19th in scoring defense (7.45 gpg) and 14th in winning percentage (.727) as Franklin & Marshall has opened the season with a 9-3 record, 5-2 in Centennial Conference play.

Following a 12-7 win over McDaniel College at Williamson Field on April 27, the Diplomats are now allowing 7.31 goals per game.

Individually, Welsh ranks third in assists (3.36 apg) and 14th in points (4.73 ppg) in the NCAA statistics as he has tallied 17 goals and 39 assists for 56 points in 12 games following a two goal-two assist performance versus McDaniel.

For his career, he has 81 goals and 106 assists for 187 points as he ranks second in assists and fifth in points in program history.

Adams ranks 17th in goals (3.18 gpg) as he has 37 goals and four assists for 41 points in 12 games to raise his career totals to 46 goals and seven assists for 53 points.

In goal, Sartorius ranks 17th in save percentage (0.644) and fourth in goals against average (6.81 gpg) through games of April 24.

Following the team’s win over McDaniel, he now has a 6.83 goals against average and .634 save percentage as he has allowed 75 goals with 130 saves in 659 minutes.

The F&M career leader in saves with 662, he holds a 7.96 goals against average and .609 save percentage in 3204 minutes of play.

#19 Franklin & Marshall (9-3, 5-2 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 30 at Gettysburg College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
